Week of March 2nd- March 8th

Finished my first week at TransAmerica.. It was awesome. They started a new program called Foundations. This program gives you a week learning about the company, some team building activities and then a brief intro into the products the company sells. It was so much fun. I enjoyed that the class was small. 9 of us. Still not used to having to get up at 600 AM though. lol. Next week begins the 6 weeks of training and actually getting to work on the phones. I didn't realize that Life Insurance could be so interesting. I am already planning on getting some schooling in. I would like to get my life insurance license so maybe I could sell. But at least I can have the license. The company does a 100% reimbursement for tuition so that helps.

Funny story. This past Thursday there was a huge rainstorm. Weather was terrible. We are just getting ready to start a new topic of discussion when the PA system comes on telling us that there is a Tornado Warning in our area and everyone needed to head to the shelters. Most of my class went to the shelter in the copy room. A few went to the stairwells (rumor has it they wont do that again as it was sooooooo hot in there). In the Copy room we were having a ball. Just talking away. Telling funny stories. Taking selfies

We were all having  a grand time until (accidentally) the only guy in our class, hit the light switch and the lights went out. All 30-35 of the people in the room went silent. You could have heard a pin drop. Thankfully after about 45 minutes the all clear was sounded and we were able to leave.

The BEST thing about this week is:

Our sweet Chubby Cheeks is here!!! He was born March 5th at 735pm.                                                  He weighed a whopping 10 pounds 5 ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long.

Little Man is just as happy as can be with his new baby brother.

May you all have a wonderful blessing filled week!

1 week and 1 day. 8 days until...

I am baptized into the Church of Latter-Day Saints. I am so excited. I can't wait. My very good friend is going to be there and give a talk on Baptism. I love KF with my whole heart. I can't wait to say that I am a member of the LDS church. I have to say that in my investigation of this church that I have felt such a peace in my soul.

On another note. 3 days and I start my new job!! Woot!! I can't wait.. I will be in training for 7 weeks from 8am until 5pm. Monday through Friday. But this wonderful new job will be only Monday through Friday with every weekend and major holiday off!! Sweet!! I haven't had a job with weekends off in so long. I am looking forward to this job. I have a friend that started working there about 2 weeks ago and she likes it so much. Thankfully this job is also pretty close to home. HSN was 3.9 miles this job is 4.9 miles.

Bored.. Leads to Speadsheets.. Leads to Addiction... LOL

So Frankie and I were talking and thought that since I was the one that does all the bill paying, I should write down the passwords and usernames for him to store in the safe. Just in case something ever happens and he needs to get into the accounts. Well, what better way to have it done than to put it in the form of a spreadsheet. Now this is the second spreadsheet I have made. EVER. But for some reason it was the most amazing experience.. lol. I am not addicted. I plan on having spreadsheets for everything I can now.. Chores, groceries, books, DVD's, CD's, Birthday's, Anniversaries, etc... AHHH... HELP!

Tomorrow will be my first time attending Church in a long long long long time. I think the last time I attended Church the Monkey was 8. She will be 17 in 2 months from today. (Holy cow. 17!! My baby is going to be 17.) I had attended a Baptist church where a member told me I was going to hell because I have a tattoo (at that time I only had one. Now I have 3). Then also told me that the Dream Catcher I have is Satanic (mind you I am part Blackfoot Indian.) So I am a little concerned about church tomorrow. However, this church is a Church of Christ Latter Day Saints. I have been taking lessons with two wonderful Missionaries and a friend, KF. I am pretty excited. So far everything that I have learned has been wonderful. I spent many days praying for guidance.

I have another week before I begin my new job. I am pretty excited. I had a funny moment during my interview. The interviewer stated that everyone is late once in a while. Asked me to tell her about a time I was late for work and how I handled it. I looked her straight in the face and told her that I couldn't tell her about a time because I am never late for work. I have never been late for work. She just gave me a weird look and said "never?" I explained to her that I am OCD with time. While working at HSN. I lived 3.9 miles away. I left my house between 9am and 915am every day to get to work for a shift that started at 10am. Yes, I normally was about 45 minutes early. The whole 2.5 years I worked there. My new job is 4.9 miles away. Guess when I plan on leaving. Yep, 45 minutes to 1 hour before shift start. (This OCD flows into times I meet up with friends, I have appointments etc. )

I hope everyone has a blessing filled day!

Big Changes this past month and a half.

The biggest change is the one where I have quit drinking alcohol. I have not had a drop in almost a month. Yesterday I had two sips of beer and noticed that it tasted disgusting and that I have just lost the taste for it. WIN for me!! YAY!

Yesterday I went to my place of employment and quit. What a relief that was. The place was making me insane. I felt like it took my soul and crushed it up, ate it, then spit it out and stomped on it. That is a horrible feeling about a place that I needed to be at for 8 hours a day. So I decided to look elsewhere. Yay. I start a new job on March 3rd.

My lessons with the Missionaries are over. :-( But we will still meet :-) Now I need to get to church a few times and set up my baptism then I will be a member of the LDS church! I am super excited about that. Way beyond super excited actually! I have a sweet friend who will be attending church with me at least a few times (she is in a different ward) but I also have another friend who attends the location I will be going to.

So with the next two weeks off I plan on working on getting my home in order. I have a bunch of items that are going to the donation bin. My goal this year is to minimize the items on our home. I am a pack rat. This is terrible. I place a lot of emphasis on items. Such as a jello mold my sister in law gave me 4 years ago that sits in a cabinet. I have never used this (we don't eat jello in my home) but I can't part with it because she gave it to me. No offense to her but it is slated for the donation bin as well. There are many items in my home like the jello mold that just sit here and get no use but I keep. Well, I have decided that needs to change.

It has been awhile since I have posted a picture. So here is a picture of my Princess.

She took all her toys and placed them on the blanket. Most of them are there again (of course this time we needed to put them there) and stay there. She is very protective of her stuff. If that cat even goes next to her blanket she runs over there and sits glaring at him. LOL She is too funny.

I hope everyone has a blessing filled day!

Day 1

Well, I was side tracked by some personal issues. But I am back on the road to a healthier me.

Yesterday was Day 1- Day 1 of no meat.
Breakfast- piece of cake (ok now don't shoot me!)
2 cups decaf coffee with Sugar Free French Vanilla Creamer

Lunch- tri colored rotini pasta salad with cucumbers, onions, tomatoes and italian dressing
1/2 twix bar. (I ate the left side. lol)
 half a sprite
 15 four cheese cheezits

Supper- Half a mediterrain. veggie sandwich from Dominos
2 pc of med. white sauce pizza with green peppers and onions.

Drank over half gallon of water My breaks at work I have been trying to stay active and walk around.

Yesterday was also Day 7 of no alcoholic drinks! Sunday I had a sip of Frankie's beer but that was it. Just a sip. I drink a lot of water (not that this has ever been an issue), gatorade (probably not the best but we all have some type of vice right) and Lemonade from my Soda Stream.

So as for the Dental work I had done. Let me say I am not as fond of the dentist as I was 2 weeks ago. My mouth is healing for the most part but NOW I have bone sticking out of the back of my gum. Bone from the graph the dentist insisted on doing. I am less than happy. I will not go back to this quack job. I will need to find someone else to fix this guys mistake- if it can be fixed.

My lessons with the Missionaries are going well. I did finish lesson 3 with them. YAY! I really love my Missionaries. My friend, KF, has been such a blessing to me.

Welp. Time to get ready to head to work.

Hope everyone has a blessing filled day. "To God Be The Glory Great Things He Has Done!"

New Year. New Me. New Attitude. New Goals.

I am back. I feel so disappointed in myself for letting myself get to this point in my life. To the point of weighing and hurting so much. I hate looking at myself and hate being the fat one. I need to get off my arse and get moving.
I am FAT, Overweight, OBESE. (ouch these words hurt.)
I hate that I can't walk to my car after work and talk on the phone without getting winded. Grr.. Damn it I am only 40 and there are 90 year old healthier than me.
Now that I have admitted this to myself I feel that I can get on. I am only going to go down from here. Down to a smaller size. I plan on writing here daily (but know that maybe only twice weekly I will get here but I will try) of the trials and tribulations of my weight loss journey. I know it wont be pretty. I know it wont be nice but Damn it I am going to do it.. I am going to get myself down to my goal weight.

Starting Tomorrow. (only because today I am on pain killers for a tooth that was extracted last week and has caused so much pain to my jaw.)
 My plan for tomorrow is:
Meet with the Missionaries and my friend KF.
Devotional- Finish 1Nephi 19 and 20. Finish up with Lesson 2 Plan of Salvation.
 Housework
Monkey to USPS to pick up package
Dinner
Work out with Hubby using our Beach Body workout DVD's (he has P90X BUT I can't do that.......YET!)

I have changed my eating goals again. I am planning on a mostly vegetarian diet. I may add the occasional red meat and often some type of seafood. But mostly vegetarian (I had cucumber sandwich yesterday- OMGosh JUMMY (as we say instead of yummy!) Right now I have some red beans slow cooking in vegetable broth in my crockpot. These will be broken up and vacuum sealed into smaller portions (approx. 1.5 C) some will be used right away. I recently purchased a new Vegan Slow Cooker cookbook that I just can't wait to use.

So about my tooth. I had broken a tooth last year sometime (mid year) and put off going to the dentist. Finally the pain became too much and I figured the amount of Orajel going into my system had to be bad.. I broke down and went to the Dentist... BUT not for the broken tooth. That one still does not bother me. I went to the Dentist Jan 6th only to be told that I had a major infection in my mouth (WHAT!!) and that I needed to be on an antibiotic for at least 24 hours. Not a happy camper was I. So back on the 7th. Had the tooth pulled AND a bone graft done. Good thing that came from this is that since then I have had no desire to drink beer.. That must have been my beer tooth! lol I did drink some one night. Two nights ago I was able to finish one. Last night I could barely drink the one I had. So no beer... Never thought I would say that. Can't guarantee how long that will be the case but no beer now (this will help with the plan of weight loss too!) I think I over did it and started eating solid foods to quick but after 4 days of mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and pudding I had to have real food... Well... Not good. Two days ago at work I was eating a chicken salad wrap (safe right? pretty soft stuff- my thought process) and BAM! HUGE BUTT bone poked me in the gums. Of course it could have only poked one place and that was all it took. I have been in terrible pain since. Son of a motherless biscuit eating goat it HURTS!! So now it is back to soft foods for a few days. But I found that a baked potato and chili (thankfully Wendy's chili has such little pieces in it I am able to mostly swallow instead of chew)fill me up. A large chili will last me two "feedings" (lol)

Hope everyone has a wonderful blessing filled today. "To God Be The Glory Great Things He Has Done!"

I broke down this past Thursday and joined.. Are you ready? Are you sure? Ok. I joined a GYM! Woo Whoo!! Yeah me! I know I am tooting my own horn but this is something I never thought I would do. I even hired a personal trainer one day a week. My first personal training episode was this past Friday. My legs have just stopped screaming at me. It has been a chore walking up and down the stairs and even doing some of the normal things that a person does during the day. Let me just say I became quite fond of the handicap bar in the restrooms at work. I have pretty much gotten my diet down. Well, not DIET DIET but Diet as in way of eating. I have become very good at calorie counting and food measuring. It has been a month that I have been doing this and it really has gotten much easier. I do allow myself one day where counting calories is a no no. I have not eating at a fast food "joint" in a month. I don't miss it at all. I feel amazing. Well, I do need to get off the computer. 6 am comes pretty early and I need to be at the gym.

I really need to get better at this..

Well, I have been slowly changing the way I eat and my exercise level. In 3 weeks I lost 6 pounds. Tomorrow will be week 4 weigh in. I am using a program that a friend showed me called My Fitness Pal. It is an app on my phone so it is always with me. I love that I can scan bar codes for calories and such for the foods I eat and can track them. It feels good to be accountable. I am able to use another app- Runtastic- to gauge my walks and then the calories burned are automatically transferred over to My Fitness Pal. I have increased my exercise. I have a sedentary job and that helped me pack on the extra weight. Back in 2009 I worked hard to lose almost 80 pounds. This was achieved my walking to and from work 5 days a week (1.5 miles each way) or riding a bicycle. Then being on my feet for my whole shift and up and down ladders. So now that I drive to work and sit for my job in the past 2.5 years I have gained almost 50 pounds ( a total weight gain of 98 pounds in 4 years. GASP!) So, it has hit me that this is not acceptable. I don't want to be the girl with the pretty face and the fat body. I am tired of squeezing myself into chairs and not having pretty clothes to fit. For some reason it seems that manufacturers think that fat people = ugly clothes. My goal is a total of 164 pounds to lose. I am hoping for a loss of 1.5 pounds a week. I have recently taken up walking again. I was walking during my 15 minute breaks. Half mile each break. Today I started using my lunch break for the full mile walk and then split my lunch between my two breaks. I will be joining a gym this weekend coming. I have to wait until a day off so I can go there during office hours to join. I have changed my thoughts on food. I am learning that I don't need to eat that last cupcake. It can go to the trash. I don't need to overfill my plate. I don't need to eat junk food all the time. I don't need the chips from the vending machines at work. I have not eaten at the cafeteria at work in almost 3 weeks. This was my favorite place to eat during the week days. I have been bringing my lunch. A sample of my lunch is a flat bread with 2T mayo with olive oil, 2 chicken tenders (not breaded. boneless. skinless) cooked with Mrs. Dash seasoning, some baby spinach leaves and my new favorite guacamole. I drink just about a gallon of water a day. To achieve this I carry a gallon jug at work and that is all I drink. I do allow myself diet soda when I am home. One or two. I know GASP but I have to have this vice right now. I have also become very adept in measuring my food. I do allow myself a sweet. I take 1/4C (a serving) of M&Ms to work. I snack on these all through out the day. When that 1/4C is gone I am done with my sweet. I do have one sometimes two cheat days. Always on Friday and sometimes on Thursday too (not often). Friday is my day not to worry about calories. I can't say when my last trip to a fast food joint was. At least a month ago and it was Wendy's. I am setting mini goals for myself. My first mini goal is 50 pounds and I will get a new tattoo. :-) As of right now I have 44 pounds to go!
