So.. I have not been one who is brutally honest when it comes to my weight. I am not honest with friends, apps and more importantly I am not honest with myself. Well, that is about to change.
Hello, my name is Lawauna and I am fat. Not just fat but obese. The last time I stepped on a scale I weighed 347. GASP... Yes, that number is correct. I keep telling myself "Oh your not fat", "But you carry the weight well" (Yeah I carry the weight well if I was a pregnant whale.) (Told ya brutal honesty)
I have a love hate relationship with food. I hate that I love food so much. Food is my comfort. When I have a terrible day where do I turn -food... Some may say "well, it's better than heroin." No, no it's not. Food is my heroin. My cocaine. My meth. Bad day- eat. Good day- eat. Ok day- eat. Vacation- eat. Holidays- eat. I even eat in my dreams. There are days I wake up and all I want is some fatty bad for me type of food. Chocolate cake- man I can sit and eat a whole 12" double layer triple chocolate cake in one day. I am a food addict.
Why the change..
Well, recently we discovered that I am allergic to dairy (milk, lactose, whey, etc). Not just lactose intolerant but actually allergic. I have fixed that problem. I have not intentionally had any type of dairy since before my birthday Dec. 29.
I will give you 5 reasons. My grandsons. Ages 6, 5 (my angel baby), almost 2 (in March) Just turned 1 in December and my newest grandson is due later this month. I want to be around for these boys. They are the light of my life. I want to be able to fly and visit them and not have to purchase two seats because my fat butt can't fit into one seat comfortably. I want to run with them.
I am tired. Tired of being tired. Tired of being out of breath walking up the 13 stairs to my condo. Tired of not being able to keep up with my hubby when we are out walking.
So, I signed up for a 5K. I had to pay and therefor that is my motivation not to give up. Plus it is a Flavor - color run and should be a great time. I have always wanted to do a color run.
I want to wear regular size clothes and not have to go to Omar the tent maker for clothes.
I want to wear stilettos
So this is the beginning of my journey. The begging of the end of the fat, jolly Lawauna and the beginning of the slim, trim, sexy Lawauna.
Workout day 1 completed.
5 minute warm up
1 minute run, 1.5 minutes walk (times 6)
5 minute cool down.

December Already??

Wow, I can't believe we are already in December. This year has just flown by. Are ya'll ready for CHRISTmas? For the most part I am. I have decided that I don't want something huge and flashy. I am going for a minimalistic CHRISTmas. We bought a new tree this year. We bought a white one. Something I never thought I would own. But I love it. The lights are multicolor. But we decorated it all in silver and blue. Mostly blue ornaments with silver garland. A couple of ornaments were silver and blue. The one off ornament is Frankie's UFO. The Monkey and I saw it and it screamed Frankie, so we had to purchase it.
Work is wonderful. Not half as stressful as the last place I worked at. It is amazing how different the atmosphere is in a company where they actually value their employees instead of treating them like cattle. (Poor cattle). I will be starting my Associate in Science- Insurance Services in January. I am pretty excited and pretty nervous. I am hoping to get that Associate and an Associate in Business Management.
My church family is wonderful. I am still getting used to having new Missionaries every so often. I got close to a couple and they have left. But they will always be in my heart. (Plus I can keep up with them on Facebook) They are some great young men and women.
Baby G-Man is due this month! I can't wait to meet my fourth grandson!

Happy Sunday! Wow, I can't believe it is already August. This year has so flown by. This will be an exciting year. The Monkey starts her Senior year August 18th. Our fourth grand baby is due December 27th (2 days before my birthday). Lil man starts school. He will be 5 in October.
Today at church was fast Sunday. Fast as in not eating. Not fast as in the service was quick. As I sat in the sacrament meeting listening to the testimonies of my fellow brothers and sisters I was amazed. Many of them had found the church while experiencing many of the same feelings I was feeling that lead me to the church.. I won't go into to much because I am giving a talk on August 24 and then will post my talk here so others may read my testimony. Also, during sacrament I was sustained as the Visiting Teacher Coordinator. I am pretty excited to be able to accept my first calling.
This month one of my favorite books premieres as a television series. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon . I was so excited to see that it was finally turned into a series. I was much happier that it was a series and not a 2 hour movie, as so much of the story would have had to be cut. This is a book that I read for the first time about 9 years ago. Yes, I said for the first time. I have read it many times. I have read 5.5 of the 8 novels that are out. Some of them more than once.
The past half week was pretty busy. My mother in law, father in law and Frankie's cousin came down for my brother in laws 40th birthday. It was a great time. I don't think once I was in bed before 1100pm with Friday and Saturday me not hitting bed until after midnight. Makes for long days. I actually broke down and took a 25 minute nap this afternoon. I had to, I was drained!! Yesterday was brother in laws birthday. We had a family party that included us and 3 friends that are like family and their wives. It was the first party I have been to since joining the Church and no longer drinking alcohol. I will say that the temptation was there but the urge passed. I enjoyed my soda and mostly my water. I have to say. I had the greatest time. I even got a little dancing in with my father in law and some singing of some Beastie Boys- Brass Monkey and Paul Revere- much to the shock of my husband.
This week I am sure will be long only because I am going on vacation on Saturday. I am going up to Louisville, KY. I had a ticket from March that I had to use and they allowed me to reschedule my trip (since when I was originally schedule to go up I had ended up starting a new job and was in Mandatory training and could not miss a day). I haven't had a vacation where I went away in two years and the last time I was in Louisville, my mother in law and I were involved in a car accident the day before I went home.
Not much more to say but I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Sunday July 27th
What a wonderful day It was great to welcome two new members into our church. You could just feel the Holy Spirit there.

Today before Sunday school a friend gave me a binder to study the Doctrine and Covenants. I am so excited. I will have to work this into my study. I need to finish reading them first. I am really enjoying my morning readings. They are pretty fantastic. I do realize a difference in when I don't read them before work and when I do.
I was to see that Amazon Prime has some great videos.
The Times and Teachings of Joseph Smith - I have watch this. I loved it.

One thing I love about these movies are that Nathan Mitchell portrays Joseph Smith in each of these. He just does an awesome job portraying the Prophet.

Another post! Gasp two in a month! lol
Things are going great. Wonderful job. Wonderful family.
Pretty Rainbow after work. I always remember that the rainbow is a promise to us from God.
Recently I have obtained a subscription to Ancestry.com, Myheritage.com, and Findmypast.com I LOVE working on my genealogy. It is so awesome. I love the little leaf on ancestry. I am like a little child each time I get one.
Next month I will be doing something I never thought I would do. First I am going to be talking to a group of woman about the websites listed above and show them how to access and find what they are looking for. Then 3 days later I will be standing up in front of the congregation and giving a talk about my conversion. I am excited and nervous at the same time.

Great verse. I love this verse. This verse was instrumental in me becoming a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have a copy of this verse sitting at my desk.

Terrible with keeping this up! But will try
So I have come to the conclusion that I am terrible keeping up my blog. It is frustrating to me. I know not many, if any, still read it. But I promise if not for you then for myself, I will work on this.
Many things have happened. I will share the biggest two!
I was baptized into the Church of Christ of Latter-Day Saints on March 15, 2014. I have not come down from the cloud I am on.

Elder Nilsen, Myself, Monkey, Krissy, Elder Lott
This day was amazing. It took three times to be completely submerged (and a knock on the head) but after that third turn I felt it. I felt the spirit and the love. The Bishop joked after that I was quicker in getting changed that Elder Lott.
Being a History fanatic, I study and read a lot about the doctrine, I read scripture every day, I am always looking into the founding of the church and Joseph Smith Jr. The Early Mormons by no stretch of the imagination had it easy. So many trials, so many tribulations. Every time they started getting comfortable in a place Satan had other plans and they had to up and move. I don't mean move down the street or next door. I mean move hundreds, thousands of miles away. Some with only wagons and some with just being able to walk. Many had to leave family, many had to leave their material items because it wouldn't fit. All had to leave their homes, their lands. One of my favorite books about the history is the Truth Restored. I have read this book twice. Both times it has left me in tears. Not tears of sadness (well some as I was reading of the suffering) but tears of eternal gratitude. Eternally grateful that a young, 14 year old, boy listened to his heart. Listened to his scripture and asked. Asked for wisdom from our Heavenly Father. One of my favorite scriptures in the Bible is:

James 1:5 "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and unbraideth not; and it shall be given him."
Ask God. That was what Joseph Smith Jr. did. Asked God for wisdom. Asked God which church should he join.
Eternally grateful that even though I am not perfect. I have made many mistakes. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and that I will get to spend eternity with Him.
On another note... Grandbaby Number 4 is on her/his way. She/he is due December 27th.

Week of March 2nd- March 8th
Finished my first week at TransAmerica.. It was awesome. They started a new program called Foundations. This program gives you a week learning about the company, some team building activities and then a brief intro into the products the company sells. It was so much fun. I enjoyed that the class was small. 9 of us. Still not used to having to get up at 600 AM though. lol. Next week begins the 6 weeks of training and actually getting to work on the phones. I didn't realize that Life Insurance could be so interesting. I am already planning on getting some schooling in. I would like to get my life insurance license so maybe I could sell. But at least I can have the license. The company does a 100% reimbursement for tuition so that helps.
Funny story. This past Thursday there was a huge rainstorm. Weather was terrible. We are just getting ready to start a new topic of discussion when the PA system comes on telling us that there is a Tornado Warning in our area and everyone needed to head to the shelters. Most of my class went to the shelter in the copy room. A few went to the stairwells (rumor has it they wont do that again as it was sooooooo hot in there). In the Copy room we were having a ball. Just talking away. Telling funny stories. Taking selfies

We were all having a grand time until (accidentally) the only guy in our class, hit the light switch and the lights went out. All 30-35 of the people in the room went silent. You could have heard a pin drop. Thankfully after about 45 minutes the all clear was sounded and we were able to leave.
The BEST thing about this week is:
Our sweet Chubby Cheeks is here!!! He was born March 5th at 735pm. He weighed a whopping 10 pounds 5 ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long.
Little Man is just as happy as can be with his new baby brother.

Funny story. This past Thursday there was a huge rainstorm. Weather was terrible. We are just getting ready to start a new topic of discussion when the PA system comes on telling us that there is a Tornado Warning in our area and everyone needed to head to the shelters. Most of my class went to the shelter in the copy room. A few went to the stairwells (rumor has it they wont do that again as it was sooooooo hot in there). In the Copy room we were having a ball. Just talking away. Telling funny stories. Taking selfies

1 week and 1 day. 8 days until...
On another note. 3 days and I start my new job!! Woot!! I can't wait.. I will be in training for 7 weeks from 8am until 5pm. Monday through Friday. But this wonderful new job will be only Monday through Friday with every weekend and major holiday off!! Sweet!! I haven't had a job with weekends off in so long. I am looking forward to this job. I have a friend that started working there about 2 weeks ago and she likes it so much. Thankfully this job is also pretty close to home. HSN was 3.9 miles this job is 4.9 miles.
