Happy Sunday! Wow, I can't believe it is already August. This year has so flown by. This will be an exciting year. The Monkey starts her Senior year August 18th. Our fourth grand baby is due December 27th (2 days before my birthday). Lil man starts school. He will be 5 in October.

Today at church was fast Sunday. Fast as in not eating. Not fast as in the service was quick. As I sat in the sacrament meeting listening to the testimonies of my fellow brothers and sisters I was amazed. Many of them had found the church while experiencing many of the same feelings I was feeling that lead me to the church.. I won't go into to much because I am giving a talk on August 24 and then will post my talk here so others may read my testimony. Also, during sacrament I was sustained as the Visiting Teacher Coordinator. I am pretty excited to be able to accept my first calling.

This month one of my favorite books premieres as a television series. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon . I was so excited to see that it was finally turned into a series. I was much happier that it was a series and not a 2 hour movie, as so much of the story would have had to be cut. This is a book that I read for the first time about 9 years ago. Yes, I said for the first time. I have read it many times. I have read 5.5 of the 8 novels that are out. Some of them more than once.

The past half week was pretty busy. My mother in law, father in law and Frankie's cousin came down for my brother in laws 40th birthday. It was a great time. I don't think once I was in bed before 1100pm with Friday and Saturday me not hitting bed until after midnight. Makes for long days. I actually broke down and took a 25 minute nap this afternoon. I had to, I was drained!! Yesterday was brother in laws birthday. We had a family party that included us and 3 friends that are like family and their wives. It was the first party I have been to since joining the Church and no longer drinking alcohol. I will say that the temptation was there but the urge passed. I enjoyed my soda and mostly my water. I have to say. I had the greatest time. I even got a little dancing in with my father in law and some singing of some Beastie Boys- Brass Monkey and Paul Revere- much to the shock of my husband.

This week I am sure will be long only because I am going on vacation on Saturday. I am going up to Louisville, KY. I had a ticket from March that I had to use and they allowed me to reschedule my trip (since when I was originally schedule to go up I had ended up starting a new job and was in Mandatory training and could not miss a day). I haven't had a vacation where I went away in two years and the last time I was in Louisville, my mother in law and I were involved in a car accident the day before I went home.

Sunday July 27th

What a wonderful day It was great to welcome two new members into our church. You could just feel the Holy Spirit there.

I finally wrote my Mormon.Org profile. Lawauna Go check it out!

Today before Sunday school a friend gave me a binder to study the Doctrine and Covenants. I am so excited. I will have to work this into my study. I need to finish reading them first. I am really enjoying my morning readings. They are pretty fantastic. I do realize a difference in when I don't read them before work and when I do.

I was to see that Amazon Prime has some great videos.
The Times and Teachings of Joseph Smith - I have watch this. I loved it.

One thing I love about these movies are that Nathan Mitchell portrays Joseph Smith in each of these. He just does an awesome job portraying the Prophet.

Another post! Gasp two in a month! lol

Things are going great. Wonderful job. Wonderful family.

Pretty Rainbow after work. I always remember that the rainbow is a promise to us from God.

Recently I have obtained a subscription to Ancestry.com, Myheritage.com, and Findmypast.com I LOVE working on my genealogy. It is so awesome. I love the little leaf on ancestry. I am like a little child each time I get one.

Next month I will be doing something I never thought I would do. First I am going to be talking to a group of woman about the websites listed above and show them how to access and find what they are looking for. Then 3 days later I will be standing up in front of the congregation and giving a talk about my conversion. I am excited and nervous at the same time.

Great verse. I love this verse. This verse was instrumental in me becoming a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have a copy of this verse sitting at my desk.

Terrible with keeping this up! But will try

So I have come to the conclusion that I am terrible keeping up my blog. It is frustrating to me. I know not many, if any, still read it. But I promise if not for you then for myself, I will work on this.


Many things have happened. I will share the biggest two!

I was baptized into the Church of Christ of Latter-Day Saints on March 15, 2014. I have not come down from the cloud I am on.

This day was amazing. It took three times to be completely submerged (and a knock on the head) but after that third turn I felt it. I felt the spirit and the love. The Bishop joked after that I was quicker in getting changed that Elder Lott.


Being a History fanatic, I study and read a lot about the doctrine, I read scripture every day, I am always looking into the founding of the church and Joseph Smith Jr. The Early Mormons by no stretch of the imagination had it easy. So many trials, so many tribulations. Every time they started  getting comfortable in a place Satan had other plans and they had to up and move. I don't mean move down the street or next door. I mean move hundreds, thousands of miles away. Some with only wagons and some with just being able to walk. Many had to leave family, many had to leave their material items because it wouldn't fit. All had to leave their homes, their lands. One of my favorite books about the history is the Truth Restored. I have read this book twice. Both times it has left me in tears. Not tears of sadness (well some as I was reading of the suffering) but tears of eternal gratitude. Eternally grateful that a young, 14 year old, boy listened to his heart. Listened to his scripture and asked. Asked for wisdom from our Heavenly Father. One of my favorite scriptures in the Bible is:

James 1:5 "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and unbraideth not; and it shall be given him."

Ask God. That was what Joseph Smith Jr. did. Asked God for wisdom. Asked God which church should he join.
Eternally grateful that even though I am not perfect. I have made many mistakes. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and that I will get to spend eternity with Him.

Week of March 2nd- March 8th

Finished my first week at TransAmerica.. It was awesome. They started a new program called Foundations. This program gives you a week learning about the company, some team building activities and then a brief intro into the products the company sells. It was so much fun. I enjoyed that the class was small. 9 of us. Still not used to having to get up at 600 AM though. lol. Next week begins the 6 weeks of training and actually getting to work on the phones. I didn't realize that Life Insurance could be so interesting. I am already planning on getting some schooling in. I would like to get my life insurance license so maybe I could sell. But at least I can have the license. The company does a 100% reimbursement for tuition so that helps.

Funny story. This past Thursday there was a huge rainstorm. Weather was terrible. We are just getting ready to start a new topic of discussion when the PA system comes on telling us that there is a Tornado Warning in our area and everyone needed to head to the shelters. Most of my class went to the shelter in the copy room. A few went to the stairwells (rumor has it they wont do that again as it was sooooooo hot in there). In the Copy room we were having a ball. Just talking away. Telling funny stories. Taking selfies

We were all having  a grand time until (accidentally) the only guy in our class, hit the light switch and the lights went out. All 30-35 of the people in the room went silent. You could have heard a pin drop. Thankfully after about 45 minutes the all clear was sounded and we were able to leave.


The BEST thing about this week is:

Our sweet Chubby Cheeks is here!!! He was born March 5th at 735pm.                                                  He weighed a whopping 10 pounds 5 ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long.

Little Man is just as happy as can be with his new baby brother.

1 week and 1 day. 8 days until...

 I am baptized into the Church of Latter-Day Saints. I am so excited. I can't wait. My very good friend is going to be there and give a talk on Baptism. I love KF with my whole heart. I can't wait to say that I am a member of the LDS church. I have to say that in my investigation of this church that I have felt such a peace in my soul.


On another note. 3 days and I start my new job!! Woot!! I can't wait.. I will be in training for 7 weeks from 8am until 5pm. Monday through Friday. But this wonderful new job will be only Monday through Friday with every weekend and major holiday off!! Sweet!! I haven't had a job with weekends off in so long. I am looking forward to this job. I have a friend that started working there about 2 weeks ago and she likes it so much. Thankfully this job is also pretty close to home. HSN was 3.9 miles this job is 4.9 miles.

Bored.. Leads to Speadsheets.. Leads to Addiction... LOL

So Frankie and I were talking and thought that since I was the one that does all the bill paying, I should write down the passwords and usernames for him to store in the safe. Just in case something ever happens and he needs to get into the accounts. Well, what better way to have it done than to put it in the form of a spreadsheet. Now this is the second spreadsheet I have made. EVER. But for some reason it was the most amazing experience.. lol. I am not addicted. I plan on having spreadsheets for everything I can now.. Chores, groceries, books, DVD's, CD's, Birthday's, Anniversaries, etc... AHHH... HELP!


 Tomorrow will be my first time attending Church in a long long long long time. I think the last time I attended Church the Monkey was 8. She will be 17 in 2 months from today. (Holy cow. 17!! My baby is going to be 17.) I had attended a Baptist church where a member told me I was going to hell because I have a tattoo (at that time I only had one. Now I have 3). Then also told me that the Dream Catcher I have is Satanic (mind you I am part Blackfoot Indian.) So I am a little concerned about church tomorrow. However, this church is a Church of Christ Latter Day Saints. I have been taking lessons with two wonderful Missionaries and a friend, KF. I am pretty excited. So far everything that I have learned has been wonderful. I spent many days praying for guidance.


I have another week before I begin my new job. I am pretty excited. I had a funny moment during my interview. The interviewer stated that everyone is late once in a while. Asked me to tell her about a time I was late for work and how I handled it. I looked her straight in the face and told her that I couldn't tell her about a time because I am never late for work. I have never been late for work. She just gave me a weird look and said "never?" I explained to her that I am OCD with time. While working at HSN. I lived 3.9 miles away. I left my house between 9am and 915am every day to get to work for a shift that started at 10am. Yes, I normally was about 45 minutes early. The whole 2.5 years I worked there. My new job is 4.9 miles away. Guess when I plan on leaving. Yep, 45 minutes to 1 hour before shift start. (This OCD flows into times I meet up with friends, I have appointments etc. )

Big Changes this past month and a half.

The biggest change is the one where I have quit drinking alcohol. I have not had a drop in almost a month. Yesterday I had two sips of beer and noticed that it tasted disgusting and that I have just lost the taste for it. WIN for me!! YAY!

Yesterday I went to my place of employment and quit. What a relief that was. The place was making me insane. I felt like it took my soul and crushed it up, ate it, then spit it out and stomped on it. That is a horrible feeling about a place that I needed to be at for 8 hours a day. So I decided to look elsewhere. Yay. I start a new job on March 3rd.

My lessons with the Missionaries are over. :-( But we will still meet :-) Now I need to get to church a few times and set up my baptism then I will be a member of the LDS church! I am super excited about that. Way beyond super excited actually! I have a sweet friend who will be attending church with me at least a few times (she is in a different ward) but I also have another friend who attends the location I will be going to.

So with the next two weeks off I plan on working on getting my home in order. I have a bunch of items that are going to the donation bin. My goal this year is to minimize the items on our home. I am a pack rat. This is terrible. I place a lot of emphasis on items. Such as a jello mold my sister in law gave me 4 years ago that sits in a cabinet. I have never used this (we don't eat jello in my home) but I can't part with it because she gave it to me. No offense to her but it is slated for the donation bin as well. There are many items in my home like the jello mold that just sit here and get no use but I keep. Well, I have decided that needs to change.

It has been awhile since I have posted a picture. So here is a picture of my Princess.

She took all her toys and placed them on the blanket. Most of them are there again (of course this time we needed to put them there) and stay there. She is very protective of her stuff. If that cat even goes next to her blanket she runs over there and sits glaring at him. LOL She is too funny.
